About Us
Our company founder, Michael (Mick) Wicks began his career as a City & Guilds apprentice Panel Beater in 1984. Throughout his career he worked in a combination of manufacturer approved and general accident repair centres.
Mick also ran his own bodyshop in Ashford, Kent for a number of years so he has experienced first hand the challenges which the body repair sector has tackled throughout the years.
Having seen and assisted hundreds of bodyshops in every corner of the UK, Mick has seen bodyshops grow from ‘One Man Band’ to state of the art bodyshops.
He has seen what works and what doesn’t.
He also has an appreciation for the changing landscapes where the body repair sector is concerned and can coach business owners to make changes for the better.
Importantly, he has built up trusted relationships with numerous repairers and suppliers across the industry over the years.
In October 2014, Mick commenced his role with the Vehicle Builders & Repairers Association which was soon acquired by the Retail Motor Industry Federation and rebranded as the National Body Repair Association.
Mick was the innovator of the NBRA Greener Bodyshop initiative and subsequent award events. This initiative encouraged bodyshop owners to take ownership of their impact on the environment and take steps to reduce it. By doing so, this has cleaned up the image of UK bodyshops, making them safer and more appealing workplaces. The initiative evoked healthy competition between business owners, promoting them to strive for the top awards to proudly display on their websites and in reception areas.
In 2023, Mick was in company with former NBRA Executive Director, Chris Weeks when he was presented with the award for Best Green Initiative at the Modern Claims Awards. An achievement which Mick takes great pride in!
